Jamnik in IR

With infrared photography you won't need to wake up early. This photo was taken around noon which is otherwise the worst time for photographing. Quality of light is not that important in infrared photography, quantity on the other hand is.

Bled Island in Infrared

Today I went to Bled in the middle of a day - not really the right time for shooting. But I planned it this way as I wanted to test my IR converted camera on a great location.

Best IR photos are taken on a sunny days... Do you like that one?

I will add few more on my photo stream in the near future. Check it out here soon.

Watch Tower in Infrared

That is my first photo taken with my newly converted Nikon D90. I adore the look of infrared photography so I converted my old D90 to infrared with Lifepixels' Enhanced IR Filter.

I think you will see much more IR stuff in the future and hopefully better and better as I fully master the technique. It's not that easy you know :)

And of course, if you have any suggestions what to photograph, what you think it would look great in IR let me know ;)

Lizard

This one was shot on a visit to ZOO in Ljubljana. I didn't take my DSLR and all the lens with me as it was Family time :)

I used Nikon 1 J3 with standard 10-30mm lens. Lizard was behind clean glass so I did not use any flash because glare would ruin the image.

Home Sweet Home

Classic view of Kranj - but still far the best. Old centre of medieval town with castle Khislstein, three churches and defence tower is visible in centre of the image. It is situated on confluence of two rivers - Sava and Kokra.  Town was known as Carnium, Creina and Krainburg throughout the history and was the first capital of Duchy of Carniola. Now it is the fourth biggest town in Slovenia with 55.000 inhabitants.

Photo is taken in subtle HDR technique in late afternoon. HDR is created with Photomatix Pro 5 and enhanced with Viveza and Define plug-ins.

Dark Lord Rises

There's an over 100 years old water tower in Kranj. It's 43 metres tall impressive building.
When the night falls lights illuminate it and supernatural beings come to life ;)

Wilderness in town centre

Photo was taken from one of the busiest bridges in town of Kranj, capital of Upper Carniola. Kokra river Canyon is protected nature monument. I am on that bridge every day at least two times, but I rarely remember to take a picture. I think I picked just the right moment this time :)

Fox Mill in Rothenburg

Are you for a great spring adventure in beautiful medieval German town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber? You have everything there, superb architecture, great food, friendly people, cosy hotels, beautiful hiking trips and much more. We stayed in family-run Fuchsmühle pension just below old town. Pension is actually renovated old mill. There I took that photo... Great memories :)

Take a look at few more photos from that trip - http://www.matijahorvat.com/photo-stream/6pw4dwm2hp5atjx2ev5ajol1h7bsnd

By the way, Rothenburg ob der Tauber is situated in middle Franconia in northern Bavaria. It has rich history as it was one of the most imported German cities throughout middle ages. Rothenburg is considered "the most German town". And it shows it on the first glance. :)

Do yourself a favour and visit Rothenburg as soon as possible.
